Kids, Cards and Christmas

It’s that time of the year when we are all frantically trying to juggle full diaries and end of year concerts.  The term is quickly coming to an end, and you suddenly realise that you need teachers gifts.  And that thought was what prompted my Kids Christmas class on the weekend.  Something that was a little different from the boring old box of chocolates.  The great thing is when the kids make it themselves, it means so much more to both the recipient and also the child giving the gift.

So I wanted to create something that was easily completed by little ones, and was fun for them to make, and of course affordable.  We had a ball creating a card and a box that holds the new Cadbury Christmas Edition Chocolate. This may be fast becoming one of my favourite chocolates.

Michaela’s Santa Card

As you can see Miss Michaela was super excited to finish hers.  We used the Square Stitched Framelits on our Be Merry DSP. The kids had a hard time choosing two patterns from the paper pack.  We also trimmed the ends of a strip of Gold Foil Sheets so our card had plenty of bling.  Using Memento Ink and the new Blend Markers, we stamped and coloured Santa or his best mate Rudolf.  Added a touch of Wink of Stella and then assembled our card.

The kids all had a great time and I had reports today that some of the cards and gifts went to school today.  I will pop in again next week to show you the box that we made for the chocolate.
